1. Tribunal decision advises training in mental health

3. Learning and development survey 2011: measuring success
Our research finds that measuring the success of training against organisational metrics helps to enhance the perceived value of training.
4. Stress management survey 2011: risk assessment and training

MANAGING PERFORMANCE, STRESS AND ABSENCE
Our list of the most commonly read XpertHR articles indicates that evaluation of training and line manager development have been important issues for HR and learning professionals over the past 12 months.
Popular articles this year gave insights into how organisations train managers to deal with underperformance, stress in the workplace and absence - all difficult areas for employers.
Recent recommendations that were made in relation to training provision at two tribunal hearings have also provoked considerable interest among XpertHR users. In fact, our most popular article discusses a ruling in which the retail company Iceland was advised to give disability discrimination training with a mental health focus to HR staff and senior managers.
In addition, we are planning to add several good practice guides covering training and development topics to the XpertHR website. If you have any thoughts on the areas you would like to see covered by our guides, please do get in touch.
