PAY INTELLIGENCE BLOG
XpertHR Pay Intelligence, which we launched publicly last week, is a new blog for reward specialists and other professionals who need to know about compensation and benefits.

It will provide commentary on pay trends and issues, and alert you to major developments in the services that XpertHR provides, such as the publication of new survey data. It will also draw attention to the key facts and figures that reward specialists and others with similar professional interests can use in their work.

It draws on the expertise of the XpertHR researchers, writers and editors whose work includes the production of salary surveys based on employer payroll data, our long-running and regularly updated databank of pay settlements, pay reports, sector analyses, surveys, case studies and economic commentaries. It will also actively encourage participation, comments and debate from the wider community of practitioners and experts with an interest in the subject.

Also in this issue we present the latest monthly pay bargaining statistics. Pay awards in the three months to the end of August 2010 stood at 1%, with around 40% of employee groups seeing a pay freeze. However, early indications from our Pay Prospects 2010/11 survey suggest that employees could receive slightly higher increases in the next year.
