DIFFERING FORTUNES ON PAY AWARDS
The level of pay awards is varying widely across different sectors of the economy, our latest research on pay trends shows. While the median pay rise is worth 2% across the economy as a whole, it rises to 3% in the manufacturing sector and falls to 1.5% in the services sector. In addition, many public sector workers have seen their pay frozen as a result of the Government's two-year pay freeze.

We continue our analysis of benefits and allowances with a detailed look at the health and wellbeing-related benefits on offer to employees. We find that employee healthcare remains high on the agenda of UK employers. The most commonly provided health-related benefit is an employee assistance programme or counselling scheme, on offer in 69.2% of organisations.

Our report also looks in detail at the availability of private medical insurance, permanent health insurance, healthcare cash plans and attendance allowances.

We have just launched a survey into individual performance-related pay schemes, and would like to hear how organisations are using them, as well as the pros and cons of such schemes.
