BONUSES
The subject of bonuses can be a sensitive one, but it is worth remembering that for the majority in receipt of a bonus, the payments are modest and linked directly to their performance. Our survey of bonus payments in 128 companies reveals that payments in 2011 are expected to be worth around 6% of salary, but will fall marginally to 5% of salary in 2012.

With pay negotiators now taking a well-earned Christmas break, we look at the pay review pattern for the three months to the end of November 2011. When we come back in the new year, we will take a look back at 2011 as a whole, before getting stuck into the new year's pay settlements.

Season's greetings to you all.
