NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE
Every year for the past 11 years the national minimum wage has increased each October.
However, while the principle of a statutory pay floor is now widely accepted, the debate continues as to its level, the age of employees it covers, and the method and outcome of the uprating process. Our survey explores employers' views on these and other issues surrounding the minimum wage.
Job evaluation schemes are an essential part of devising a pay and grading structure, according to the organisations we surveyed on the subject. Our two-part survey looks at the types of job evaluation schemes used, how they can help protect against equal pay claims, and the practical issues involved.
Your XpertHR subscription is now even more valuable if you have staff based outside the UK. The new addition to our portfolio, XpertHR International, makes it easy to comply with employment law in the countries where you operate. Countries covered include France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland, with new countries being added regularly.
Happy New Year.
