GUIDE TO MEASURING LABOUR TURNOVER
Our good practice guide on measuring labour turnover covers all aspects of measuring the outflow of people from an organisation. It includes the business case for monitoring and managing labour turnover, and outlines the distinction between voluntary and involuntary labour turnover.

The different calculations that can be used to manage staff retention are also outlined - including the wastage index, the resignation index, stability rate and survival rate. Alongside this, it provides guidance on calculating the cost of labour turnover and effective steps that can be taken to minimise unhealthy levels of turnover.

We also include a "how to" guide on dealing with bank holidays. While there is no statutory entitlement to time off on bank and public holidays, employees may have a contractual right to time off.
