WHAT DOES MATERNITY LEAVE COST EMPLOYERS?
Maternity leave costs organisations around £8,500 per employee (not including statutory pay which can be reclaimed), finds the first part of our latest research among 181 employers. This figure includes the cost of finding a replacement and wages paid during maternity leave.

The second part of our research covers how keeping-in-touch days are being used to aid employee engagement and encourage women to return to work. We include two PowerPoint presentations, which accompany XpertHR's line manager briefings on maternity rights.

In this newsletter, we also report on the findings of our two-part survey on agency workers. Part one examines any changes to employers' use of temporary staff since the introduction of the Agency Workers Regulations, while part two looks at how employers manage their relationships with employment agencies.
